Japanese Tools Shipped to the UK
We ship genuine Japanese-market tools and measuring instruments from Japan to the UK, including models that are not sold in the UK: Makita (Japan models), MAX rebar tying tools, Mitutoyo, HIOKI, KYORITSU, NAKANISHI and more. Prices are shown in pounds sterling.
We are the same seller as yourtoolbox_jp on eBay, where UK buyers have bought from us many times.
Shipping to the UK
- Free shipping on every UK order.
- Dispatch: orders ship from Japan within 5–7 days by courier with tracking.
- What you can order: items priced over £135. Lower-priced items are not offered to UK addresses on this site.
Import VAT and duty (the question we get most)
- No VAT is added at checkout. The total you see at checkout is what you pay us.
- Because each UK order is over £135, UK rules say import VAT is paid when the parcel enters the UK, not at checkout. Customs duty may also apply, depending on the item.
- Who collects it: the courier (for example FedEx or DHL) contacts you and collects the VAT and any duty, usually before or at delivery. Couriers normally add a handling fee. Their invoice shows each amount.
- How it is calculated: VAT is charged on the value of the item plus shipping and any duty. Most tools are charged at the standard VAT rate (20%).
- VAT-registered businesses: you may be able to reclaim import VAT. Ask your accountant.
- If you return an item, you can apply to HMRC for a refund of the import VAT and duty (form C285 for courier deliveries).
Before you buy
- Battery tools: Makita 18V (LXT) batteries sold in the UK fit Japanese-market Makita 18V tools. Chargers and corded tools for Japan run on 100 V; check each product page.
- Questions about a model number, VAT or compatibility? Contact us before you order.
- Faulty, damaged or wrong items are covered at our cost. See our refund policy.
