Tying rebar by hand is slow and hard on the hands. MAX, the Japanese maker that says it launched the world's first battery-powered rebar tier in 1993, builds tools and wire to fix that. Below: which MAX tool fits your job, and which wire your tool needs.
MAX guide: models and how to choose
Pick by your problem
- "Hand tying is too slow" or "ties work loose" → TwinTier RB-442T (Japan model, tool only), or the RB-442T kit with 2 batteries and charger. MAX rates it at 0.5 s per tie, with a pull-back mechanism that draws bars tightly together.
- "I can't find Japanese MAX batteries or a charger" → RB-442T-B2C/1450A kit: tool, two 14.4 V 5.0 Ah batteries, charger JC-925A and case.
- "I need wire for my TwinTier" → TW1060T(JP) annealed, 1.0 mm, 30 reels.
- "My project calls for galvanized ties" → TW1060T-EG(JP) for TwinTier tools, or TW899-EG(JP) for single-wire tools.
- "I still run an RB-399 or RB-519" → TW899-EG(JP), 0.8 mm, 50 reels.
