VESSEL 400ER3-1M Electric Slim Ratchet Set, 33 Pcs, USB-C Rechargeable

Tired of turning a ratchet handle 30 times to run one nut down? The VESSEL 400ER3-1M spins nuts and screws in and out with a small motor, in a ratchet-sized body that fits where a drill does not. When the fastener seats, you finish the job by hand like a normal ratchet. The set comes in a hard case with sockets, bits and accessories (VESSEL lists 31 bits, sockets and attachments; TRUSCO lists the set as 33 pieces).

Is it right for your job?

Good fit:

• Running long or many fasteners down quickly (panels, covers, brackets, assembly work)
• Tight spots where a cordless drill or impact driver is too long
• Jobs where you want to feel the final tightening by hand instead of guessing with a power tool

Not a good fit:

• Breaking loose rusted or tight bolts with the motor, or final tightening with the motor. VESSEL states the motor stops at about 1 N·m, so anything tighter is done by hand (up to 60 N·m).
• Jobs that need powered torque on bolts. A cordless impact driver or a powered ratchet with a higher torque rating is the better tool.

We say this up front because three eBay buyers of this set told us the motor felt too weak. That is how the tool is designed: the motor is for speed, your hand is for torque.

FAQ

Can it charge from a US outlet? It charges by USB Type-C with the included cable. A USB power adapter is not listed in the set contents, so use your own USB charger.

How tight does the motor go? About 1 N·m, then it stops. Use the handle for final tightening and loosening.
