How to choose
- Match the pipe size first. Japanese pipe sizes use the "A" scale (15A is about 1/2" nominal, 20A about 3/4", 25A about 1"). Pick the wrench whose range covers your pipe with some margin.
- Same capacity, less weight: PWA-350 and APWA-350 cover the same 8-25A range; the aluminum-body APWA-350 is listed at 1 kg against 1.3 kg for the steel PWA-350.
- Larger pipe: APWA-450 is the only model here that reaches 40A (52 mm outer diameter).
- Tight spaces and fittings: the FUJIYA FGLP-38-BG is a short (220 mm) geared adjustable wrench with a 38 mm maximum opening. Its pipe size rating is not stated on the product page.
