Wired or wireless?

  • Wired (USB-ITN): one cable from the instrument to a USB port. Each cable has its own connector type (A to E), so match the cable to your instrument.
  • Wireless (U-WAVE): a small transmitter fits on the instrument and sends readings to a receiver. The U-WAVE-R receiver page lists USB bus power.
  • Bluetooth (U-WAVE-TCB / TMB): these pages list Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy.

The Japanese catalog names of the USB-ITN-B and USB-ITN-E say "micro". That means "for micrometers". They are not Micro-USB cables. According to distributor listings, the USB-ITN-E cable has no data switch, so you need an instrument with its own data switch or Mitutoyo USB-ITPAK software.

U-WAVE-R receiving unit (02AZD810D): USB bus powered, 130 g. Whether it works with the Bluetooth models is Not confirmed on these pages, so ask us before you order a mixed set.

How to choose

  • Start from the instrument: calipers, micrometers and indicators use different connectors. Check your instrument's model number first.
  • One station, one gauge: a USB-ITN cable is the simplest setup.
  • Several gauges or no cable on the bench: U-WAVE transmitters plus one receiver.
  • Coolant or dust: pick an IP67 transmitter or a waterproof USB-ITN (A or B).
  • Want a sound when a reading is sent: pick a buzzer type.
