TTC Tsunoda EK-72 Electrician's Folding Knife (OAL 177 mm)

Need a compact knife for stripping cable jackets on the job? The TSUNODA (TTC) EK-72 is a folding electrician's knife made in Japan. TSUNODA describes it for stripping cable sheathing and cutting wire in electrical work. It folds to 100 mm, so it rides in a pocket or tool pouch, and a back liner lock holds the blade open while you cut.

Is it right for your job?

Good fit:

• Scoring and peeling the outer jacket of electrical cable
• Carrying one small knife instead of a fixed-blade knife (100 mm folded, 107 g)
• Working at height: the handle has a strap hole for a safety cord

Not a good fit:

• Stripping the insulation of individual wires to an exact length. A wire stripper with gauge holes is faster and cleaner; see our Japanese wire strippers.
• Prying or heavy cutting. It is a slicing knife with a 72 mm hollow-ground blade.
