Gravity cups for small guns: PC-400SB-2LF and family

For a WIDER1, KIWAMI-1 or W-71 gravity gun, the 400 ml stainless PC-400SB-2LF is the standard choice. ANEST IWATA notes that the stainless cup has legs and stands on its own (210 g). The PC-400S-2LTF is the same size in a version that ANEST IWATA lists as complying with Japan's Food Sanitation Law, for food-contact work. If weight matters, the aluminum PC-400AB-2LF is 125 g. For small jobs or touch-ups, the PC-150SB-2LF (130 ml), PC-51 (220 ml) and PC-61 (130 ml) hold less paint and sit lower on the gun.

Cups for large guns: PC-4, PCL-7B-3 and PC-1

WIDER2, W-77 and W-200 guns use the larger G3/8 thread. The PC-4 is a 400 ml aluminum gravity cup. For suction guns in this size, the PCL-7B-3 holds 700 ml and the PC-1 holds 1000 ml, both in die-cast aluminum.

Suction container for small guns: PC-3

If your W-71, W-101 or WIDER1 is the suction type (cup hangs below the gun), the PC-3 is the matching 400 ml aluminum container with a G1/4 thread (180 g).

RR-A, RR-AS and RR-AT air transformers

ANEST IWATA's RR series are air transformers: a regulator with a gauge that you mount near the work. All three take 1/4" (G1/4) connections and pass 780 L/min.

• RR-A: one adjustable outlet. Primary pressure up to 1.0 MPa, secondary 0.05–0.78 MPa. 2.9 kg.
• RR-AS: pressure adjustable on both sides. Same pressure figures as the RR-A.
• RR-AT: for higher-pressure lines. Primary up to 1.4 MPa, secondary 0.05–1.13 MPa.

All three are made in Taiwan and rated for air up to 80 °C.

AJR-02S-VG and AJR-02L-VG: a gauge at the gun

Pressure drops along the hose, so the number at the wall is not the number at the gun. The AJR-02S-VG screws onto the gun's G1/4 air inlet and lets you read and adjust pressure right there (screw adjustment, max 0.68 MPa, brass body, 120 g, made in Italy). The AJR-02L-VG is the rotary version (95 g, made in Japan).

ALF1300B-14D and AMF1200B-14D

Compressor air carries water, dust and oil mist, and each of them shows up as a defect in the finish. ANEST IWATA's line filters are rated by what they remove:

• ALF1300B-14D: main line filter, 3 µm, automatic drain, Rc3/8 port, 1300 L/min at 0.7 MPa, 0.9 kg. Removes dust and condensed water.
• AMF1200B-14D: micro-mist filter, 0.01 µm, Rc3/8 port, 1200 L/min at 0.7 MPa, 0.9 kg. Removes fine oil mist.

Both are rated to 1.4 MPa and made in Japan. A coarser filter is normally placed upstream of a finer one.

EAHU-620 and THU-620 urethane hoses

The EAHU-620 is a 20 m urethane air hose, 6.2 mm inside and 9.3 mm outside, with a ground wire to carry away static, rated to 1.47 MPa (0.95 kg, made in Japan). For pressure-feed guns that need an air line and a paint line together, the THU-620 is a twin urethane hose of the same size, 2 × 20 m, rated to 0.69 MPa (1.8 kg, made in Japan). The AJQ-02PM quick-joint plug connects an air hose to a coupler.

SFX-179-200 paint filter, NK-2 viscosity cup, AMM-6B mixer

The SFX-179-200 is an in-line paint filter (200 mesh equivalent) for W-101, W-71, W-61, LPH-101 and WA-101 guns, rated to 0.7 MPa (43 g, made in Japan). The NK-2 is a brass viscosity cup (46 mm cup, 273 mm long) for checking how much to thin the paint. The AMM-6B is an air-powered handheld paint mixer, 10 × 600 mm shaft, for paints up to 1 Pa·s.

Pressure tanks: PT-10D, PT-10DM and PC-18D

For long jobs with a pressure-feed gun, a pressure tank replaces the cup. The PT-10D is a 10 L steel tank with manual agitation, 0.34 MPa maximum, G1/4 air inlet and G3/8 paint outlet (13 kg). The PT-10DM is the same tank with automatic agitation (14 kg). For smaller batches, the PC-18D is a 2 L pressurized container, 0.34 MPa, G3/8 thread (1.25 kg). See all pressure tanks.
